I got these work shoes that are mens wear inspired about a month ago. They are currently my favorite work shoes. I do stand a lot at work so these are perfect.

Best Thrift Find Ever: Lamp
I got this lamp at Animal Humane Society thrift store and now with a new best-friend(shade) it lives in my living room.
What I love about it the most is the architectural structure. I love the metal base and neck squishing the ceramic or ceramic looking sphere. Its of grand size (2ft 8in) almost too big for my living room, but since I have two big reclining sofas it fits right in. I also love the detail of the metal base its very simple, but interesting.
This is our living room my husband and I painted and installed new laminate flooring, the curtains came with the house and I plan on changing them soon, but for now they are still hanging in there.

OOTD: birthday party
This was my mother-inlaw's birthday party at the race track. It was a lot of fun, here I am with my husband. I was going for a vintage look here with the top and my hair style. I love these pants they are my favorite office pants because they fit wonderfully.
The Outfit:
Top: JcPenney Outlet = $5
Banana Republic pants: thrifted = $8
Best Find Ever: Tildon
I got these Tildon boots from Last Chance. I have worn them several times now, but at first I couldn't figure out what to wear them with. Once I got around to wearing them I have been wearing them a lot and with just about anything. They are supper comfortable and obviously easy to walk-in. Also I thought that they would be falling apart because the material seems really cheap, but they haven't even scratched even through all the wearing. The original price on these is about $80; I scored them for $20.
OOTD: At the arcade
I know this is a terrible picture of me I was trying to fix my hair and my arms are up, but it was the best picture of my outfit.
The Outfit:
Dark grey Columbia jacket: thrifted = $3
Gingham long sleeve button-up: free = husband
Grey dress: Last Chance=$10
Neon belt: Betsey Johnson = 2 for $10
Spiked Steve Madden boots: Last Chance = $20
Total = $38
Garbage Gem: More flowers
All of the following flowers were in the trash and in my state(Arizona) it is illegal to pick the trash. Its a fine, but I don't remember how much. Either way I did take the risk and picked these flowers from the local market's trash a long with some fruit and vegetables.

Garbage Gem: flowers
A week ago some accomplices and I stop by the trash and notice there were some beautiful flowers and decided to take them home. These are the ones that I got, but there were more than three times the amount of flowers. It is illegal to go through the trash in the state of Arizona, but the law is different in each state. Before going in someone else's trash I recommend that you check the state's law towards trash picking.
Outfit of the day
We are renovating our new place and this is one of the most finished rooms in the house. We painted and installed laminate flooring our selves. This was Halloween day, but I had to work that night so I didn't do anything special. The blouse in this outfit was already here when we moved; its probably from the early 90s. It is sheer, has some movement and fits loosely on my body. I'm not wearing any accessories or make-up.
Outfit details
Shoes: Last Chance - Topshop - $20
Pants: Last Chance - 7for all mankind - $30
Blouse: Free - Counterparts
Total: $50
My Concert Outfit
The event was a Megadeth concert at our State Fair. When I was heading out to the concert I knew I was going to be walking a long walk; comfortable shoes were a must. It was a bit cold "for me" maybe 75 degrees outside so I need a sweater. I actually forgot this was a dry clean only item and stuck it in the washer and of course it shrunk. This was the only time I got to where this sweater; I was really looking forward to wearing this a lot more. On a lighter note the concert was a success; we had a great time and the band played their ass off.
Outfit details
Shoes: Amazon - Demonia - $20
Pants: JCPenney -Olsenboye - $12
Blouse: Savers - E.K.Designs - $5
Sweater: Savers - Chicos - $6

Best Find Ever: Topshop
So I went to Last Chance again and of course I found something I wanted. I don't know how, but every single time I go in that store I find something I really want. This time I found a pair of booties from Topshop. These shoes are called the Ant buckle boot. Topshop is a brand that for me, is too expensive. These booties originally cost $190. These cost $30 at Last Chance, but because they're winter shoes; I got them for $20. I wore these for my mom's birthday with snake printed shorts (jcpenney outlet $7) and a dark gray banana republic top (Savers $2). I know you can't see my outfit here but I'm the girl with brown hair.

Best Find Ever: Jeffrey Campbell
I went shopping at Last Chance on Saturday morning with my cousin. She was looking for a dress for her mom. My aunt is going to a wedding. I went straight to the shoe section because they usually only have one style of shoes per size. I did score with the Jeffrey Campbell Ibiza bullet X. I paid $18.99 + tax. They do look better in person; they're more dramatic. I found them hard to walk in, but very comfortable. I don't usually wear heels, so I think that someone with more experience would find them easy to walk in.
I also found this pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes, but decided to not buy them
I also got cute polka dotted socks for $1 and bright yellow round cat-eye sunglass for $3.

My Thrifted Story
I have had to go thrift shopping with my mom my entire life. I come from a low income family and we usually didn't have money to go buy things new and had to go to thrift stores. I stopped when I was a teen because I had my own money and I didn't want to spend my money on used clothes. I was also getting really into fashion trends and wanted to fit in. I wasted a lot of money on trendy clothes that I didn't love and are no longer trendy. Looking back at my teen years I made a lot of mistakes and not thrifting was one of them. I started shopping at the thrift store about the time I turned 19 because I realized that I can't afford my buying habits. I think I have a small shopping addiction and thrift makes me think its not bad since I'm not shopping at department stores, while getting my shopping fix. I don't think I will ever stop shopping at the thrift store I actually think I will buy more at the thrift store.
The clothes I have owned for the longest time are thrifted. All of the vintage clothes I own come from the Goodwill Outlet. To me the 80s isn't vintage and I do own 80s clothes. Most if not all of my handbags are from the thrift store. I do buy shoes at the thrift store and the higher quality shoes I own are thrift. Well, not just shoes, but the majority of my clothing that is higher quality are thrift. My point being that I love the thrift stores because they have vintage clothes and higher quality clothes.

Trend: Comic book
The obsession started with 3.1 Phillip Lim comic book sweater. I thought about diying the t-shirt, but I can't do any diy right now and honestly it just seems tedious. I don't have the means or will to spend the money on 3.1 Phillip Lim. I haven't gone shopping and when I did, I didn't see anything comic book inspired. I had given up hope of having comic book print clothing about 2 weeks ago. I know there's online shops that carry this trend, but I don't like to buy clothing/shoes online.
Today we(my mother-in-law and my self) went shopping to JCPenney Outlet store and I found a t-shirt with the comic book strip print. The t-shirt has a light-pink background with a multitude of colors and its by Marvel comics, which is cool that its a real comic book brand. The print is similar the the one in the clutch below except it has more of a comic strip look to it. I don't own anything light-pink and its nice to add a new color to my wardrobe. I plan to wear it with mint color jeans and black high-top converse. It will be a very simple outfit, but when the whether is 110 degrees I know I'm going to be sweating. I love scandalous outfits, but I simplify during the summer; less is more.

After JCPenny's we went to Ross and I found comic book leggings. The leggings were $10. At first I thought they were too much, but after carrying them around for a bit I thought it was fair enough and decided that I wasn't going to leave without them. The leggings are very similar to these but in black/ white.
I do plan to diy a comic book inspired clutch, I already have the white clutch I want to use, I just need the acrylic paint and my camera. I really want to make sure I take pictures of the project.

Best Find Ever: Jeffrey Campbell
I have been obsessed with these shoes lately by Jeffrey Campbell
I'm just so excited!
On Tuesday, April 30th I went to Last Chance with my husband. Last Chance is a Nordstrom Outlet where all the Nordstrom castoffs, returns, and display items end-up. This was just my third time going. I simply just had a great idea after watching a youtube video of The Fashion Citizen (vlog). Their review of Last Chance mentioned that they buy Jeffrey Campbell shoes there. Since boot season is over I thought that maybe I will get lucky and find something. I found these spiked litas for $30, but I got them on sale and paid $20 + 9.3% tax. There is a small problem with how dangerous the spikes are since I have doggies around me so I just put them on in my car.

Betsey Johnson thrifted
After Christmas, sometime in the month of January I found a Betseyville purse at Savers. Savers was selling the purse for $25, but since it was Friday the purse was 25% off; I paid $20. I know it isn't that much cheaper than at the store, but I really liked the purse.
Two weeks ago I went to the Value Village and found a Betsey Johnson dress. The dress just caught my eye and when I checked for the size I saw the tag. This is the first time I have ever come across a Betsey Johnson item, ever. The dress: bell shaped skirt, white and pink stripped print, strapless. However, the dress did not end in my closet collection; I'm too big for the slim dress. Although I could have altered the dress and made it fit, I just though that it would be best if someone smaller took it home. I was afraid of altering it and running the dress; I'm not that good of a seamstress. Oh and the price was only $10.

Thrift Japanese Street Fashion: Natural Kei
I have been studying Japanese fashion for quite some time now and have figured that I can thrift a lot of certain styles. I have also found out that a lot of the Japanese fashions are handmade or altered thrifted American clothes. Since I live in America I have found that to be easy as apple pie.
Natural kei has a very pastoral look, is natural and femine. Mostly Influenced by romanticized, western period clothing. Think long hippie dresses or Little house on the Prairie. For this reason, this Japanese look can easily be thrifted. At just about any thrift store you can find a good dose of long frumpy dresses often too large for the average 20 something "me". So if you were to decide to thrift this look I would recommend you focus on one look, take a picture with you.
layer 1- an underskirt or a few, pantyhose, shirt
layer 2- dress or skirt
layer 3- bolero, apron, vest, cardigan, coat
2. Loose fit
3. Prairie/ Country prints: florals, stripes, fruits, leaves, lace, animals etcetera
4. Embellishments: trims, small ruffles- if you are crafty you could diy a long white dress with white lace trim (please choose quality over quantity when it comes to lace)
5. Shoes are comfortable, clunky, round toe(suggestion) and not delicate, not high-heels
6. Purses can be baskets, leather, or prairie printed
7. Accessories can be anything prairie: flowers, pearls, corsages, hats, skeleton keys, etc.
8. Hair: soft, romantic, curls and braids are common
9. Makeup is natural and soft
